I always argued that finishing record should be included in the criteria, rather than just spit and polish, but I was voted down. However, in an extreme situation, if someone wanted to win the trophy really badly they could do a great job over the winter, enter every race but not actually drive the car....... just saying.

I'm not sure I agree, it's all about the prep and a well prepared car will stand more of a chance to finish the race. These are our pride and joy so no real reason for them not to be as clean as they can be and ready to go.
Maybe just me :?

No. It's not just you.
It's all a matter of personal presentation. And if the car's clean you can see where any problems are quickly if needs be.
But I bet you've regretted all that ali all year!

Just realised that I was 3rd in Class B last year, but I only received the replica. I have a feeling this trophy...the Richard Scott, has been mislaid in the last few years. So I can't do a history list for 3rd in Class B, which is a shame as all the trophies are hard fought, whichever they are.

I won the Richard Scott award in 2000 but again I received what I expect is a replica, mind you I never seen the original. I also won the Robin Read trophy in 1999, again a replica, I think that might have been awarded for highest placed newcomer. Just thought I would provide this, one off the list at least :-)

So...we need the list from the current owners of

The Bill Cowley (Snr) trophy.. Highest placed driver in a car of their own design & build
The Brian Clayton trophy....Highest placed driver in a car of his own design & build in its first season of racing
The Jeff ward trophy...highest placed non race winner
The Tony Shaw trophy....Winner Class B
The Paul Ward trophy...2nd Class B
The Richard Scott trophy...3rd Class B. That's me for 2018 and as the trophy's been lost, I'll struggle with this, but will get Michael on the case
The Will Johnston Jnr trophy....season's best qualifier
The Robin Read trophy...highest placed newcomer

So....some work to be done by me, Chris Gough, Tom Driscoll, Paul Morris, James Jeffrey. We need your input

A great idea...
It would be good to record the first names of those early winners while they can still be recalled. There are several guys who went on to achieve more later. And share the data with the historic guys.

Great idea Sue.
I have only got a replica Paul Ward trophy for 2018, hence no names from me, sorry. I do wonder where the trophy has gone!
My name should come up on the Robin Read trophy and a couple of times on the Jeff Ward Trophy.

I’ve got the Will Johnson Jr Trophy so here goes:

2010 Nat Cooper
2011 Bill Crowley
2015 Robin Gearing
2016 Robin Gearing
2017 Bill Crowley
2018 Peter Bove

2012 - 2014 it wasn’t awarded, but we could work out who would have won it if we are really keen....

I think the Highest placed driver in a self-built car is the Bill Cowley Trophy. I'm not sure who won that recently.
I got it as a 'stand alone' trophy in 2009 and 2012.

Then there's the Paradise Baths Cup (that I won in 1986) but that will confuse everyone!

Ah yes, the Paradise Baths Cup - how did you win that without having "Salem" as your surname? :)
