2018 awards "do"

Postby suebmick » Mon Jan 21, 2019 6:47 pm

Despite quite a few trophy winners not venturing out last Saturday to the annual awards "do", we still managed to represent the Formula with 2 tables of participants & their entourages.
Congratulations to Mark Glover on his 2018 overall Championship.
Sorry we left before the dancing started, but we had an AMAZING M40/M25/M26/M20 journey home in the mobile wardrobe & only saw a small handful of cars & lorries (and one severely brave motorcyclist in the -6deg temps). Just what a motorway journey should be!! Joy of joys...that's the only time to travel!

Thanks for the photos Sue, it was a really nice evening that went onto the early hours of Sunday morning. Chris Gough got the award for the most amount of trophies, congratulations to Pete on the best qualifier award and to Mick and Sue for the best prepared car. A big thank you to Rod Hill for making sure the Goodacre trophy was properly stuck together, its a real piece of racing heritage with all the champions from 1950 around the base, with many familiar names on it. The wife has even let me display it in the lounge which is a first!

Its now less than three months to Brands and i hope everyones winter rebuild is going faster than mine, i need to spend some serious time in the garage to make sure i’m ready! I look forward to seeing everyone in April

Cheers

Mark
