East Midlands Centre

It was a tough assignment but somebody had to do it. An intrepid advance guard of Tom Perry, Dave Robson, Rod Hill and me went off to the Royal Oak in Ockbrook to see whether it was going to be possible to resume our monthly meetings.
The answer is yes. The good news is that they are ready to welcome us back starting with the August meeting. The bad news is
• they have shortened the opening hours and will be closing at 10:00
• there will be more people there after Boris’s lifting of restrictions
• if you are being covid-careful, their attitude is a bit relaxed. Dave took a leak and was the only person wearing a mask, although he felt safe enough.
So, no guarantees that it is going to be ok, but some of us will be there on the first Tuesday of next month from about 8:00pm for our usual interesting and in depth discussions! And gossip. We hope to see more of you or we might just take it personally!
