Martin Kemp Driver Profile

Postby Martin Kemp » Sat Oct 31, 2020 2:45 pm

I have been inundated with a request for my driver profile.
A Mrs Trellis of North Wales writes:

Dear Mr Kemp
I enjoyed your early musical career and appearances in EastEnders. Is it true you will be on I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here.

Thank you Mrs Trellis
Few people know that I played bass for the jug band "Gertrude Grabberknackers Gorgeous Gripperknickers" as after our first performance the singer and lead guitar refused to appear on stage with me, citing musical differences ( key and tempo - whatever they are).

I did live in the East End just up the road from Poplar in 1957 but didn't appear much for fear of all of all the nuns and midwives on bicycles and I certainly would not appear on any programme that regarded me as a celebrity. Could you be thinking of someone else with the same name.

Yours Martin Kemp

Your driver profile was a great read and goes some way to explaining who you are :?

I must pay more attention to the TV and see if I can recognise you. I did see the 'Harris team' on Flog It so you are not the only TV celeb............. (Sue didn't get any offers for Mick!).

That Mrs Trellis is very observant unlike me since I'm sorry I haven't a clue.

I await news that a Falcon has been sent into outer space in a Musk-like publicity stunt.

I'm afraid the Falcon will never get into space - it has too much downforce,

Thankyou for your profile. As ever, you are a joy!

I think you'll find that Andy Twort & Claudine would've been over the moon to find that the Martin Kemp & wife doing part of the ERA journey in the Far East for a TV programme 18 months ago was you. But it was a pop star of my youth era. Their driving skills didn't match yours!

You must stop watching Flog It! It's seamless on the TV, but was hilarious on the day. Believe it or not we were working!
